Bell Drop MTB Helmet
Whether you’re into pointing that front wheel downhill or more likely to push it against a starting gate, the new Bell Drop MTB Helmet is what you’re going to want on your head. BMX, freeride, slalom, four-cross, or downhill—this is the gravity lid du rigeur. The hand-laminated Drop was designed from the ground up by the same team that created Bell’s now legendary Moto-8 motocross helmet, so you know it’s gonna rip. Certification to both the CPSC bicycle standard and the new ASTM downhill standard makes it one stout competitor.
· Fusion In-Mold Microshell – In-molding is the process of bonding the helmet’s Microshell to its EPS foam layer to provide a sturdier, more solid helmet. The EPS foam is shot into the thin Microshell cap when it’s in the mold – thus the name – rather than formed separately and taped on later. This process was pioneered by Bell and is now the industry standard for all high-end helmets. All but Bell’s toddler helmets are now made with this construction method.
· Fully Adjustable Flying Bridge Visor – The Flying Bridge Visor was developed for Bell’s award winning Moto-8 motorcycle helmet and adapted for the Drop DH/BMX helmet. The easy-to-adjust system uses two side-mounted adjusting screws in conjunction with a proprietary cam mechanism that hold the visor firmly and securely without the need of a hard-to-reach center screw. Visor adjustments are easy, even in gloved hands.
· Hand Laminated Fiberglass Shell: Hand lamination is still the best way for Bell’s helmet builders to orient the fiberglass weave to create a shell that is both strong and lightweight in full face helmets.
